TOURNAMENT RULES

Normal high school rules apply.  

Home teams wears light colored jerseys.  Away teams wear dark colored jerseys. 

Scorekeepers: 

We will provide a scorekeeper/foul tracker for each game.  However, it is encouraged that each team also provide their own scorekeeper/foul tracker to ensure that the scores and stats are accurate.

Game Rules:

If games are running early and each team has enough players to start, the game can begin early but only if both coaches agree.

  •      2- 20 minute halves-  Clock stops in the last 2:00 minutes of the game only 
  •  Game clock will continue to run in the last 2 minutes of the game if one team has a 20 point or greater lead. 
  •  Timeouts- 2 per half (Timeouts do not carry over)
  •  Overtime-  1st OT 2:00 (stop clock). 1 full timeout.
  • 2nd OT sudden death (no timeout in  sudden death).
  • No shot clock but 10 second back court violation.
Fouls:

    7 Team Fouls = 1 and 1; 10 Team Fouls = 2 shots

Player is disqualified after 5 personal fouls

Technical fouls count as personal fouls

Player or coach is disqualified after 2nd technical foul

Technical fouls result in (2) shots and the ball

 Free throws:

  Players can enter the lane when the ball is released.

Tie Break

1. Head to Head

 2. Margin of Victory (15 points max per game)**                 

3. Least points allowed.

4. Total points scored

** If there are three or more teams with the same win/loss records, the tie breaker will be Margin of Victory.

 

Ball size:

Boys

    3rd Grade (9U) through 5th Grade (11U)  – 28.5

6th Grade (12U) through 12th Grade (HS Varsity) – 29.5

Girls

All Grades – 28.5

 

 Disorderly or Hostile Behavior

    Any abuse of officials is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

    Any player, spectator, or coach involved in fighting, threatening or hostile behavior towards any person, on or off the court, shall be suspended for all remaining games and shall not be allowed to participate in all future tournaments.

   Any onlooker involved in fighting, threatening or hostile behavior towards another person shall not be allowed in or around any gym or future tournaments.

 No profanity will be allowed from spectators, players or coaches.

Any spectator causing a problem will be asked to leave the gym, by lead official or tournament director.

If that person does not leave immediately, police will be called.

 Players may not wear jewelry, bracelets, earrings, watches or similar items.

Tournament Director has the right to modify tournament rules and regulations to best meet the needs of ALL TEAMS participating in our tournaments.
